Sarah graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy and Politics) and a Bachelor of Laws. She completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through the University of Adelaide and was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and to the High Court of Australia in 2016.
Sarah worked for several years at an insolvency practice gaining valuable experience in corporations law matters. She then worked at a criminal law practice before starting Hawker van Dissel Law. Sarah is particularly experienced in corporate insolvency matters.
Sarah now practices in all areas of criminal law, including traffic law, drink/drug driving, assault and sexual offences, drug trafficking, theft, summary and major indictable matters, and youth matters. In addition, Sarah deals with guardianship matters, wills & estates, employment law and private intervention orders.
Sarah has experience in the Magistrates Court, District Court and Supreme Court of South Australia as well as in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Sarah regularly attends the various suburban, regional and rural courts for her clients and location is not an impediment to having Sarah represent you.
