Romana Simic has practised in family law for over 10 years. During that time, Romana has gained considerable experience representing clients across a broad range of family law disputes and providing advice at all stages of a matter from pre-action procedures through to dispute resolution, mediation and litigation.

Romana’s no-nonsense and commercial approach to advice and representation often results in her clients avoiding unnecessary delay and the emotional and financial consequences associated with ongoing court proceedings.

Having initially gained experience in a wide variety of practice areas, Romana brings to the firm considerable experience in the areas of wills and probate, estate litigation and commercial law together with a greater understanding of complex financial matters.

In addition to private client work, Romana is a trained Independent Children’s Lawyer. In this role Romana assists the court in complex parenting disputes involving a range of issues including family violence and physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children. Romana performs a similar role as a Child Representative in in the Children’s Court.

Romana holds a Bachelor of Law from University of Western Australia. She is also a trained mediator and a collaborative professional.

Romana also holds Masters in Applied Family law and as such has extensive knowledge in less frequent aspects of family law such as adoption, adult child maintenance, gender dysphoria and similar.

Romana is a member of the Law Society of Western Australian and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
