Mihiri Sumanasekara holds a Bachelors of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations) from the University of South Australia. Prior to her admission in 2020, Mihiri worked as a legal clerk in a generalist law practice based in Toorak Gardens. In this role, she was able to assist the principal of the firm with numerous criminal and commercial matters.
Following her admission, Mihiri practised as a generalist lawyer, helping clients from all walks of life with a variety of issues. This allowed her to truly understand and experience the diverse nature of law. In her second year of practice, Mihiri decided to focus on family law
Mihiri now also handles wills and estates and probate and civil litigation, but her focus remain on family law, handing financial and parenting matters as well as complex child protection matters. Since this time, Mihiri has amassed experience in difficult matters relating to property settlements and children.
Mihiri prides herself on being able to take a realistic and diligent approach to legal matters. Being from a diverse background, she can empathise and cater to clients from many walks of life and provides effective and strong representation to all clients.
In her spare time, Mihiri enjoys listening to music, writing fiction, and dining out with friends.
